The regs seems to say we need to use the club-supplied 1144s, but I see the club shop also sells the Mintex F4R pads. Are the F4R there for historic reasons, or am I missing something and we are allowed to use F4R? If so, are they better?
F4Rs were allowed by SSR at the second Rockingham 24hr race and will be allowed in 2019. It’s a harder pad and has enough life to do a whole 24hr race and more. We found that Rockingham had high pad wear rates (much higher than Spa) and the 1144 didn’t last the whole race. The F4R has a higher initial bite and I personally prefer them over the 1144.
Excellent, thanks for the carification Caryl.
