Just received supplementary regs for Rockingham which are headed up as being for both the 3 hour and 24 hour races.
Shocked to read £500 deposit for fuel! We are doing 3 hour race and not planning to use a 10th of that! So is thus rule meant for the 24 hour entrants?
Also we have been led to believe we should arrive with a full tank of fuel ready for weighing in at scrutineering, same regs say we must only use club provided fuel at the circuit so what happens to the full tank of fuel currently in our car?

The £500 deposit is only for the 24hr teams who will be issued with a fuel card.

The fuel that’s in the car can be used, but may be tested to make sure it’s standard pump fuel.

Thank you Caryl, so just to be clear, there is no requirement for 3 hour race teams to register for fuel or buy fuel at the circuit?

The fuel cards are specifically for the 24hr teams.
But the fuel used should be purchased from the circuit fuel station for both races.

Thanks Philip. This is becoming less clear now. Our C1 already has a full tank as we thought it had to be full for weighing at scruitineering. Do we have to empty it (how?) and then replace with fuel bought at the circuit?
And must we leave a £500 deposit. This seems over complicated for a 3 hour race and I really don’t know what we’d do with the fuel we’ve already bought.

I repeat – the fuel cards are for the 24hr competitors to save them paying every time they go to the fuel station. The 3hr competitors will not need this facility, and will not need to leave a deposit. The 3hr competitors can pay as they fill up.
Any fuel in the car is fine, if we think you have some super performance enhancing mixture in your tank we will take samples for analysis.

Thanks Philip, this is now clear, we have standard petrol station fuel and happy for it to be checked. Even more happy we don’t have to waste it ????
