So which teams are entering the 24hr at Spa?

We’ve just put our entry in – car 139 with four drivers.

Car 146 has entered with Chris l, Dan, rob Austin and matt telling at the moment. Another car is in build so the driver line up could change.

Spaces filling fast on this one, 18 UK C1 entries so far.

Get your entry in as soon as possible, first come first served, grid looks like it will be over subscribed. That will mean a reserve list.

Highly unlikely for us due to commitments with our other cars.

We’d also like to get some domestic race miles under the cars belt before heading for Spa.

I don’t think we will make either as our first race will be Pembrey so not enough time to gain a Nat A license.

Is a “B” licence not valid for Spa?

Didn’t think so. I’m sure I read that somewhere Unless we are racing under a concession.

All drivers need a National ‘A’ licence or above to race at Spa.

It is still possible to get 6 signatures before October. You can get 2 from the 4 hour race (as long as you have at least 1 hour seat time) at Pembrey plus another 1 from the 2 hour race at Pembrey, 2 from the 4 hour race at Cadwell and 1 if you do a days marshalling.

Furthermore if you raced with a different club you could theoretically get 3 signatures in a weekend if you could stomach the fees – and you could keep on top of the car mechanically.

Take CSCC for example:  a C1 would be eligible for New Millennium, Tin Tops and Open Series.

OK, you’d be tooling around at the back on your own.  But provided you kept an eye on your mirrors and didn’t get under anyone’s wheel (there’s some quite quick stuff in all three of those series).  It would be a doddle to rack up the signatures.

Something to thing about if you’re committed.

…plus with those CSCC series races you can get some pit stop practice in as they are all 40 minute, mini enduro format for up to 2 drivers.

So just to be clear, we are 100 % it has to be an “A” license ?

I can’t say categorically Matt as I’ve not read the regs for the specific event.

But I’ve raced at Spa >10 times with UK MSA series and every single time it’s been mandated as MSA National A minimum.

Just had a quick chat with the licensing department at the msa and as i have held a National “A” in the past i can just send back my current “B” and £68 and upgrade so going to do that so i’m covered anyway. Ta
