Hi, the build notes show the position of the spot lights and how to install them. There is a more detailed set of instructions that show you how to cut out slots in the bumper for the spot light brackets. You can find the instructions here.
Caryl WillsKeymasterHi Martin,
The part numbers are in the 2020 regulations (unchanged in this area for 2021) under section 12. The details are as follows and you can buy them from you favourite car parts supplier or Euro Car Parts:Part KYB #
Front left strut 332808
Front right strut 332807
Rear damper 343808The springs are Apex 70-4200 and can also be bought from Euro Car Parts or spring-loaded.co.uk.
Caryl WillsKeymasterThat’s a good point Jo. Smoking (including vaping) is banned in the garages, but is OK in the paddock.
Drinking in the garages is allowed, but not for drivers, mechanics, pit crew or team managers. Many garages will be kitted out with tables and chairs for the teams to prepare and eat their meals. I would be surprised if these activities didn’t involve a beer or a glass of wine or 2 and that’s fine. We want people to have a good time, but will not tolerate any alcohol consumption by drivers or any member of the team that is involved with the maintenance or management of the car including those people responsible for the car’s release into the pit lane as per MSUK regs.
If you have any concerns about this, please come and talk to one of the directors in the Club HQ at any point during the meeting.
Caryl WillsKeymasterHi Jo,
The ticket gives you access to the paddock. I would suggest that you would be able to access your team’s garage by invitation. If this proves to be an issue, please come and see one of the club directors in the club HQ (middle of the paddock) and we will sort it out. I think the circuit are trying to protect the teams from being inundated by the general public when most garages will have potentially 50-60 personnel working in or around each garage. It is not our intention to prevent any family or friends from visiting their team in their garage.- This reply was modified 4 years, 11 months ago by Caryl Wills.
Caryl WillsKeymasterHi Guys,
Alloy wheels are available from Robins and Day Slough Parts department on 01753 821 211. Give them a call, say you’re from the club and they’ll be able to sort you out.Caryl WillsKeymasterExedy clutches are not allowed. They are sold as uprated and are not a standard or standard pattern part.
Caryl WillsKeymasterHi Steve,
You can’t use the Exedy clutch kit. The clue is in it’s description ‘EXEDY-MODIFIED-UPRATED…’ Regulation 11.5 says the following:11.5 CLUTCH The standard or standard pattern Citroen clutch and pressure plate must be used.
Caryl WillsKeymasterHi Steve,
You will be able to get in. I don’t think you’ll be challenged on the gate, but if you are, say you’re my guest.Caryl WillsKeymasterI think BARC could have worded the access statement a little differently in the Croft Final Instructions. The meeting is not being publicised to the general public and there will not be any tickets issued. However, our members, their family and friends are all very welcome, so please come along. Entry is free and it’s a very friendly paddock.
Caryl WillsKeymasterHi John,
Thanks for bringing these issues to my attention. I was in the middle of doing a bulletin when my day job got in the way. I’ve updated the publish date on the cover page and everyone is about to be sent a bulletin describing the change that has been made. I’ll look at identifying the changes from 2019 to 2020 for next year when I’ve a moment – the filters in Word 2016 revision tracking don’t work very well when the document is saved as a PDF, but I’ll see if there is another way to do it.Caryl WillsKeymasterHave a look under the padding – there should be all the required stickers either stuck to the shell or sewn into the lining.
Caryl WillsKeymasterHi Jason,
The timetable for Croft (and all other UK race meetings) will be posted on the BARC website here when they have worked out how they’re going to run each day.Caryl WillsKeymasterHi Andy,
Nice to see you at the Autosport show. The alloy wheels will be supplied directly from PSA through Robins & Day and won’t be available from the club shop (although I will put some contact details up when they are available). We’re expecting them to be available at the end of February and will send out a news letter with all the info about wheel and tyre supplies nearer the time.
Caryl WillsKeymasterHi Steve,
A new version of the draft 2019 regulations has been posted on the website.Caryl WillsKeymasterHi Rollo,
You can get the KYB dampers from many sources including Euro Car Parts. There is no possibility of getting another cage manufacturer involved in the supply of cages. We have considered this in detail and at length, talked to other manufacturers and considered the effect this might have on the regulations and how it could disturb the fairness the series currently enjoys. The lead time to get another manufacturer on board is about the same time as the lead time from Safety Devices and we can’t guarantee they would be able to offer the price and delivery performance we get from SD. Safety Devices are working hard to reduce the backlog and are giving the club high priority in scheduling the factory.
