If you check out the Regulations section of this site it’ll answer a lot of your questions but FYI it is 3door cars only as C1 race cars. The section on building a car will also give you a lot of useful information.
There have been a lot of cars built now for this racing and a few of those were built with the intention of taking paying drivers but the market is now saturated so even as a novice you shouldn’t have many problems getting a place. The cost of a place will be between you and the team you race with but you can get some ideas on event costs by looking around this site i.e you can see the cost of an entry, tyres, brakes etc and depending on the number of people sharing the car you’ll get some guidance.
It is a great place to start racing particularly if some of the others in the team are more experienced you’ll find it will help you a lot. If you can it’s probably worth visiting some of the races and talking to some of us.I doubt they’ll be able to help as it was still on the car for the race as can be seen from this picture.

The Mission Motorsport Car was running one at Cadwell I think and I thought when people queried it we were told it was ok to run but would probably be a disadvantage.

When you’re doing your weight comparisons don’t forget these things have to run to a minimum weight which you’ll almost certainly have to add ballast in a specific place to get to so your results may not give you useful information.I’ve got a 2.25ltr Extinguisher in my car at present with two outlets, one in the engine bay and one in the car, can anybody clarify for me if I could get away with just fitting a bigger bottle or would I need two more outlets as well to conform with the FIA standard?

I tried bridging the connections with resistors but for some reason it didn’t stop the light working but a small piece of black tape over the light doesn’t show and passed an MOT.

I’ve got a Cobra Monaco Pro and it’s mounted on the original adjustable rails. One of the guys who shares the car is smallish and he has a foam pad which gives him a bit of extra height. We covered his pad with flameproof material and the foam is fire resistant. People who’ve driven the car have said it’s pretty comfortable.
The car is based in Norfolk but we’ll be at Pembrey if either of those places is any good you’re welcome to have a sit in it and a general look around it, the car is number 114.
I have one of these in my car and I’m very pleased with it.
I bought mine through eBay, I think I just typed in FIA window film or something like that, if not people like Demon Tweeks sell it.
